Gary Corcoran

Gary Corcoran Singer / Songwriter, fretless player who also plays bass / percussion / trumpet and his own musical creations. Originally from Cornwall, UK, Gary now lives in Oslo, Norway. His website is a rare treat, his guestbook a dark comic nightmare, don't miss the fretless video, complete with aluminium fingerboard, and don't miss his music.

Newbie Brad

Newbie Brad An attorney since the late 1980's, his musical activities are solely expressive but not career. Brad was a member of 80's band "The Young Nashvillians" which had a couple of commercial album releases but were not particularly notable except as a minor cult band. Still living in Nashville, he was also a member of "The Silver Dollar Blues Band" and "The Tripods" (originally "Sighted Willie and the Tripods") and when playing out live he mostly played blues. All recent musical efforts have been in experimental electric guitar music, some of which was in partnership with his old friend Pantha, though he presently is a partner in several other collaborative efforts. Now exclusively playing a fretless electric guitar ("Becky") built for him as a generous gift by luthier Doug Holt, he can also be found playing self-made or modified instruments.

Jahloon Spends far too much time developing his website to ever contemplate picking up a fretless guitar.

Willem Niehorster at DFGF2

Willem Niehorster was born in 1963 in México City. Started to play guitar at age 15 and moved to Washington DC, in 1983 studying classical guitar for two years before relocating to The Hague, (Netherlands, Europe) where he studied at the Royal Dutch Academy of Fine and Applied Arts and took guitar lessons from Theo Ehrlicher, Olaf Tarenskeen and Clemens Wabra.

Currently playing progressive/fusion he bought his first fretless Vigier Surfreter in 2006, and a year later made his own double neck fretless/fretted/headless guitar Xochitl . Willem organized the Dutch Fretless Guitar Festival in 2006 and 2007 and is currently playing Propeller (cross-over, 4 albums) and with his new fretless project Music Mafia (fusion/progressive jam band).

Billy Dugger IV 21 year old singer songwriter out of Lake Charles, Loiusianna, USA. Experimenting with musical instruments from an early age Billy took up serious guitar at the age of thirteen. He cites early September 2004 as a milestone turning point when he first tried a fretles guitar. He has since given up fretted guitar for the more abstract sounds available fretless.
To quote Billy himself; "Fretless guitar is like abstract painting, but with music."

Ryan Novak Ryan currently lives in Wisconsin, and has always tinkered with instruments, but the decision to take the frets off one of his guitars was a particularly good choice. Self-taught on guitar and saxophone as well as other instruments, he's interested in free-improvisation and free-jazz, records extensively at home, and hopes to finish a recording soon.

Fredrik Pihl is Swedish born and started playing guitar in 1992, seven years later he was taking private lessons from Mattias IA Eklundh (Freak Kitchen) who later introduced him to Ron Thal at a Freak Guitar camp. He then got lessons from Ron and is currently studying in Katrineholm.
